Store Report and Fit Review: Tender Violet Pique Speed Tights, Tender Violet Down For A Run Jacket, Tender Violet Down For A Run Vest, Cold As Fluff Parka

by Cristina

Speed Tights Tender Violet Pique

These speed tights where so flippen tempting thanks to this vibrant Tender Violet Pique but unfortunately these highlighted my cellulite big time so I left them behind. They are a very comfortable TTS with tons of stretch. I love them so much but these are not for me.

Down For A Run Vest Tender Violet TTS 10

This Tender Violet is very pretty and I was momentarily tempted but I don’t gravitate to these pinky purples. I think I still prefer the Forage Teal but this will look amazing on Tender Violet lovers.

Yogini 5 Year Long Sleeve

This seems to be looser fitting in my TTS to the prior years Yogini 5 Year LS but I wonder if maybe the one I have is a size down. In a darker color I would absolutely size down in this but this heathered caspian blue was very thin and slightly sheer so not sure I’d feel comfortable with something less loose.

Cold As Fluff Parka TTS 10

I was surprised with the fit on this parka. Usually in jackets this long I tend to have to size up for less pulling across the hips but this seemed to not get hung up in that area on me. I didn’t find this jacket flattering on me but if you are tall and thin this will look great on you. it’s very warm and I believe it is water resistant. The outer material is thicker and so I think it cuts wind better than glyde or swift. it’s the same material as last years Puffy Blanket Jacket (which I have) so if you had issues with fuzz sticking to the Blanket Jacket you will have the same issue with this one. I have the Blanket Jacket in black and never had issues with fuzz but I know many people did. Overall this is nice but I prefer last years version for my curvy figure.

What other colours did the Yogini 5 Year LS come in? Please tell me it wasn't just the caspian blue? *fingers crossed*

I always look forward to your Monday store & fit reports – thanks so much for posting! I am loving tender violet and I think it looks nice on you – especially that vest! Pique is my absolute favorite fabric along with rulu and the tender violet is so pretty but I am wondering, like LLA mentioned, if it is the best choice for speed tights. I might hold out and see what other tops/bottoms are offered in it. here's hoping for those runderful pants this week too!

Did the parka come in another colorway at the store? I am wishing for it in Inkwell! Would you recommend this one?

I love tender violet, but not for a vest or down jacket. It's too bright IMO . But it there will black grape one I'll be all over it. I noticed that I mostly wear my Alberta lake and Inkwell vests from last and hardly ever reach for the one in Boom juice. BTW I just bought All the right places crops in Bon Bon a couple of days ago. I thought I'll wait to see there's any other bottoms will be offered in it before I take tags off . I compared them to my Boom juice items and it looks like Boom juice has more red in it when Bon Bon is more pink.

I, for one, am just trying to figure out what that striped top you're wearing is. Oh, and lovely speed tights. I'll be getting those for sure.

How does the open your heart fit? Is it a true to size or size up item ?

That is one of my favourite tops. The Open Your Heart LS II. They were in stores briefly in September but I think it was last years stock. I also love the Open your Heart LS I

It's pretty TTS, even a bit loose. I was happy with my TTS 8 that I tried on in store, but ended up getting an awesome deal in a 10 and it fits ok. I just wear it lounging around the house anyway.

I love the Tender violet vest on you – I think you should actually get it in that color!
I want to try the tender violet pique speed tights. I love speeds and am always on the lookout for some in a color (though I do find lighter colors emphasize imperfections). Did these feel warmer?

Why can't Lulu make nice pullovers in a colour pique instead if black/gray? I would love a Define in Tender Violet Pique

Was that the blue tee you tried on? It looks white in the picture. How does if compare to the Corcadian ?

I like the look of the tender violet pique pants, but I'm wary of trying another textured speed tight. I got the giant herringbone forage teal ones from last week's upload and they feel so rough/scratchy. In my experience, they also run much smaller than the solid speed iv's. I have a 4 in the black speed iv's and they go on easily – these were a struggle to get up. OT – I'm also a bit grumpy because I finally wore my toasty tech tights ONCE and in less than an hour the vertical seam on the right front hip unraveled. I'm also pretty sure I'm returning the forage teal DFAR vest because although I think it's pretty, it's too late in the season for me to be buying another lightweight vest. And I agree with the previous comment that I like tender violet, but I'm not loving it in the jackets. Thanks for another awesome fit review Lulumum!

I'm going to revise my comment slightly. I just tried on the forage teal giant herringbone speeds again. I must have been bloated when I tried them on the first time because I didn't find them nearly as tight this time. Having said that, where there is extra fabric that is hard to smooth out (because they're a bit long on me), they do dig in a bit whereas that doesn't happen with my solid speeds. The fabric is thicker, though. And I still say they're not soft – they feel almost "dry", for lack of a better word.

I am still on the fence about the DFAR vest. I tried it on and compared it with The Fluffiest Vest and the latter is definitely warmer. I wish the DFARV were not SO lightweight.

Hi! I always look forward to your fit reviews! Thank you for taking the time to do them. I was wondering if the fluff off jacket came in any new colors besides the tender violet, white and black? Thanks!

Agree with the others…the tender violet vest looks great on you! Thanks again for the reviews.

Given how much pilling I have on my pique Skinny Will pants in the crotch area, pique strikes me as a very odd choice for Speed Tights. However, they are gorgeous and nicely warm. I would definitely love a pair but not to run in and I am crossing my fingers for some pullovers in this pretty material.

Hi! Thanks!
I did not notice if it had thumbholes but I noticed on my Down For A Run Jacket that although it looks like it doesn't have thumbholes it has hidden thumbhole so maybe the parka does as well. I'll check it out again tomorrow if I can.
They had the other tan/white/black colorblock one which is on the UK site.
