Fit Review: Onzie Ritz Crop Midnight Anemoni

by Cristina

Last week I had a chance to head over to Nordstrom without kids, and with time to try on several items in the activewear department, including these Onzie Ritz Crop Midnight Anemone. I was really excited because when Nordstrom first came to Vancouver they had a huge selection of  brands, but then suddenly all that variety disappeared and they where only featuring Zella and a tiny bit of Nike and Adidas. I like those brands a lot but what I really loved about the Nordstrom Vancouver activewear department was that it was really a boutique shop experience with a huge variety of brands I could discover that I couldn’t try on anywhere else. This was a big draw for me even though it’s a 45 minute drive and parking expense, but worth it for all those brands curated in one location. I’m glad that whoever they have that is doing the buying has gone back to pulling in variety of fashion forward athletic wear brands because the big draw for me to come in for this particular shopping trip where these Onzie crops in this gorgeous floral print.

I LOVE floral prints. I know they aren’t ideal for a fuller pear shape like myself but I just really love them. My favourite print from Lululemon is probably the Secret Garden rose print on teal background and I always regret not getting the Inspire Crops in that print. During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale these caught my eye from a distance several times, but I didn’t have a chance to try them on until recently. The Onzie Ritz Crop Midnight Anemone have a really pretty black velvet detail at the hem that just make these so extra, and so luxurious. The sizing is XS/S, or M/L and I was afraid that the M/L would be more like a size 6/8 but actually I would say it was more of an 8/10 which works for me. I love that it’s a higher rise and the material is really lightweight and breathable. My one nit with them where that although they seemed to pass the squat test for opacity, when I pushed my thumb through the waist you can see how stretched out the print gets and I suspect that in natural light these pants would be sheer in a deep squat. I didn’t see a big variety in print placement but I do think you need to try these on to make sure you don’t have an unfortunately placed blooming flower.

Ultimately I did not end up getting these because I was slightly afraid of the statement print, and considering getting them in the black colorway and just enjoying the pretty velvet trim detail but I do regret not purchasing these. I’m going to have to wait on these because I’ve been pretty spendy lately but I am lusting hard, and will probably purchase them next month if they are still around. Actually, I will make it my goal to purchase these once I’ve gotten rid of my extra summer fluff.

What a nice touch with the velvet trim at the hem. I do really like the print but I would be too worried about the sheerness factor and probably go with the solid black.

I am writing this post with the expectation that it may not even show up. I know Christina that you are working on the problem but as of this morning all comments are still not showing up. It looks like LLL is also having website problems. At first I was able to get into their site but when I hit the tab WMTM all I got was a white screen. Now I can’t even get into their site because it is saying there are server problems of too many redirects when trying to open the page that also wants to redirect to another page?!? Anyone else having this problem?

Hi CT. Your comment definitely shows up here.
I had tech support logged on to my admin panel yesterday and they tried every which way to replicate the problem but they couldn’t. They left 5 comments using different browsers and all showed up fine. They created test posts and then left comments and those all worked fine. He then tested my posts through an online proxy and those worked fine. I wonder if you are having issues on your end. You may want to try a ‘DNS Flushing’. Here is some info on when you need to flush your DNS: https://askleo.com/how_does_flushing_a_dns_cache_help_resolve_some_issues_and_while_youre_at_it_whats_dns/
I suggest the DNS flush because you are also having issues viewing the Lululemon website and I’m seeing it fine. The article I linked above indicates that that might be a problem with your DNS server if you are having trouble accessing sites, and if they are having page load issues for you.

I shutdown my computer and turned it back on this am. and was able to get into LLL website. I still had the same issues with your website. I did read other commenters last week who said they were having the same problems as me where not all comments were showing up.

Love these leggings on you! I don’t think they look busy at all. Get ’em, girl!

I really like those on you and it’s a pretty blue color. The pattern does dissipate a bit. Hopefully they will be opaque even in natural light. The velvet detailing is a nice touch.

gosh those are pretty!! they look very nice on you too. i think you should definitely get them and then definitely check them out for sheerness. i bought a pair of onzies once that were crazy sheer, but these look much better. i want them!!!

re: comments, until about an hour ago the most recent post i saw on your website was the upload and it had 1 comment. then all of a sudden the more recent posts showed up and 35 comments appeared on the upload post. so strange! i know that i have to use chrome for your blog (which is fine) cause it does not load on my safari, and i had the same redirect thing happening with lulu’s website today on safari, but then it opened fine on chrome. i probably have a really really old safari version :-/ although all the stuff on your blog (ie, posts/comments not showing up) was on new version of chrome, so who knows what the heck is going on and/or wrong with me. im about 85 yo in terms of my technological abilities. oh well…

I am still having problems not seeing all comments posted. The first post on this website, fit review of jacket, states there are 12 comments and when I open it I see only 3. I know Christina has been working on the problem but her comment to me the other day says her tech support could not find any problem and that I should try flushing. I have a a fairly new MacBook Air and only have problems with this website and I know there are others experiencing the same problem so I don’t believe flushing is the answer. I am glad to hear I was not the only one yesterday having problems with LLL site. I think what happened there was it was taking too long for the WMTM page to upload so I left the website and when I tried to get back into the website later that is when I had problems and only by shutting down my computer did it fix the problem. That had nothing to do with my current problems with this site. I really hope that whatever is causing this problem will be fixed so that I can once again enjoy reading her posts along with all comments because for over a week now I haven’t been able to.

Thanks CT, I’ve just forwarded your comment and a screen grab of my website as it appears now (with my missing post) to Siteground. I hope they are able to fix this issue for me otherwise I will have to switch hosts, and also provide my customer review.

Thank you for leaving me this comment. I shared it with my tech and I got very excited when it seemed like they had the fix but when I got home this evening I still seem to be having issues consistently seeing new posts that have been published. Can you let me know if you are still having the same issue?

Sorry Christina to only be getting back to you now but I wasn’t able to see both of your replies to my comment until now. I was absolutely stymied as to why I was not able to view all comments and then this morning while on your site I went into “view” on my tool bar and reloaded the page and then I was able to see all comments. I just don’t know if I will have to do this on a continuous basis but I am happy that at least with this extra step I can now view all comments.

slightly OT but there’s a new floral print previewed on the LLL website, at least in the UK version. I was just looking at the swiftly tanks, and theres a new print in the train times crops featured with the adobe swiftly tank. I love floral prints too, though my only issue with onzie is their sizing 🙁 they don’t fit consistently enough for me to keep buying them beyond the 2 pairs i have from this brand, even though I LOVE their unique prints. I love these on you though!

I hope the link works!
