Amazon Prime day is here and I’ve read reports that this year will be big on beauty and fashion since Amazon is really wanting to break through on that market.
You can sign up for Amazon Prime here and get a free 30 day trial and take advantage of the sale before committing to paying for the service. The sale runs July 10th at 9pm ET (6pm PT) and runs for 30 hours.
Quick disclaimer: because the sale is so close to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I don’t think I can swing purchasing during the Amazon Prime sale, I have my eye on the Mackage leather jacket in Sepia I think so I can’t partake, but I did want to armchair watch this one to see if it is in fact heavy on beauty and fashion, and possibly athletic apparel and electronics. I don’t know why but i have a feeling that the Dyson Supersonic Blowdryer might be on offer, and I want to live vicariously. The timing is so unfortunate for me.
I’ve never shopped this sale before but like all of these fabulous sales there are rules to making wise purchases.
- Log on early. Apparently the markdowns happen in waves and not all at once.
- Have items you are hoping to find marked down, or frequently purchase (beauty essentials etc.) ready in your shopping cart or wish list.
- Especially add beauty tech items into your cart that you’ve been eyeing since Amazon Prime Day is usually heavy on tech. I would be inclined to add this at home laser hair removal device or a GHD hair straightener.
- KEEP A BUDGET! I will remind you in every sale event post that you should have a budget to shop with and stick to it. Nothing is worse than the feeling of buying something you really love and covet but that you had to go over budget for. It’s not worth it. Make a plan and stick with it.

I know you are waiting for the Nordstrom sale but have you checked out Mackage’s seasonal sale on their website – http://www.mackage.com/ca/en/sale-women#/page/1 The prices seem comparable and there are more style options.
Hi! I did. I’ve been watching the mackage sale all week and there was one jacket in cognac that I was really interested in but ended up getting the Nordstrom one (for now).
